GoPHP5 tries to convince projects and users to convert to PHP5. PHP5 was released a long time ago, but still many users and developers stuck with PHP4. For no reason. Switching to PHP5 would help to get rid of ugly compatibility code, provides nifty extensions like SimpleXML and of course a much better object model (visibility, objects passed as references per default, type hinting, virtuals).
(And if you need a good web hoster which provides PHP5, try Schokokeks Webhosting. We are also supporting GoPHP5)

published on July 9th 2007, 12:11:53 pmyou probably mean people are stuck at PHP4, because if they were stuck at PHP5 there wouldn’t be the need for the GoPHP5 project :)
