The most recent album of Fleetwood Mac Say Your Will is a typical album of grand old men. Fussyness is one of the attitudes, which couldn’t be found by best willing. Meloudious acoustic guitars, dizzy female voices, well-balanced drums and fine synthesizer sounds are the base of this album. With it there comes the hit single “Peacekeeper”, which is often played by the radio stations. Fleetwood Mac gives the argument, that a good song could be listened very often without getting boring or on your nerves.
Sadly Christine McVie, one of the song-writers is absent on this album, because she is busy with solo projects but the current ensemble of Fleetwood Mac was able to compensate it. The album is very diversified, e.g. the difference between “Peacekeeper”, track 8 and “Come”, track 9. “What the world coming to” is one more realy nice peace of this album. It remembers to the old spirit of Rumors, the greatest album of Fleetwood Mac. Rock on!

The dual compact disc, “The Essential” of Leonard Cohen is a carefully choosen collection of the Cohen songs. The criterion for the titles they chose seems not only to be if it was a hit or not but the also incorporate the measurement of musical quality. Of course you can find their tracks like “Suzanne” or “Bird on a wire”, which are more exertive than beatiful. But some brilliant songs, as well textual as musical, e.g. “Who by the fire”, track 11 / CD 1, “Everybody knows”, track 17 / CD 1, “First we take Manhatten”, track 3 / CD 2 and “Anthem”, track 9 / CD 2, which snuggle in your ear and complete the feeling of warm tea and tiled stove. The most impressive thing for me is the listening of the songs creates a completely new feeling every time you open your ears. The spectrum of that music as great as even possible.
